To start a chat session focused on specific details in public documents, follow these steps:
Select Public Documents: Navigate to the "Public Documents" section in Numero's interface and select the SEC Filings category.
Steps for Selecting Companies
Choose Document Type: From the dropdown menu, select 10-K as the document type.
Initiate Company Selection: In the search bar, type the @ symbol. This triggers the company selection feature, allowing you to specify companies by name or ticker code.
Enter Company Name or Ticker Code: Begin typing either the company's full name or its ticker code (e.g., "AAPL" for Apple Inc.).
Ticker codes are unique identifiers assigned to publicly traded companies on stock exchanges and are used widely in financial searches for accuracy and efficiency.
Dropdown Suggestions: As you type, a dropdown list will appear, displaying relevant company options. You can select one or more companies to include in your search.
Multiple Selections: For comprehensive searches or comparisons, you can select multiple companies simultaneously, making it easier to analyze related data or perform cross-company analysis efficiently.
Initiating a Chat using Default Peer Companies
Having peer companies readily available as default options in the dropdown list greatly enhances the search experience for users, especially in scenarios requiring comparison, such as analyzing revenue across industry peers. Let’s see how we can use this feature to ask a question.
The user can directly type in the prompt such as "Compare the revenue".
Upon entering this prompt, the AI responds by pulling relevant data from the selected documents.
In the example shown in the image, the AI compares the revenue details for AAPL and GOOG, presenting a comparison of revenue data for Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) from their respective 10-K filings, using Numero’s AI Copilot feature
In summary, the AI provides a clear, concise comparison of revenue metrics for Apple and Alphabet, helping the user gain insights into each company's financial performance over the selected years. This automated analysis supports efficient decision-making by quickly surfacing important data points.
