Follow these steps to link documents within Numero’s document repository:

  1. Navigate to the Document Repository: Open the Internal Docs repository from the main navigation panel on the left. This module contains all your transactional documents along with other documents like contracts and accounting ones.

  2. Identify the Primary Document: Choose the document you want to use as the primary document (or “base” document) for linking other related files. This primary document could be any type of transactional document, such as a Purchase Order (PO), Invoice, Quote, or Statement of Work (SOW).

In this example, let’s consider a Customer PO as the primary document.

  3. Initiate the Linking Process: Select the primary document and click the "Link" button in the tool bar.

  4. Access the Link Documents Panel: A "Link Your Documents" panel will appear on the right side of the screen. This panel displays a list of documents that can be linked to the primary document. You can either scroll through the list or use the search bar to find specific documents.

As you select documents, they will appear in the panel for review. Once all relevant documents are selected, click the "Link" button at the bottom of the panel to complete the process.

  5. If your primary document is already linked to other documents and you want to add a new one, previously linked documents will appear shaded in grey, while newly selected documents will be shaded in blue for clear distinction.

  6. Confirm and Establish Links: Once all relevant documents are selected, click the Link button at the bottom of the panel to finalize the connections.

Viewing Linked Documents in Internal Docs Screen

Once documents are linked, they are easily accessible from the Internal Documents Repository. The linked documents are indicated by a golden link icon next to the primary document name. This consolidated view allows you to quickly access all associated documents, making it easier to manage related files within a single screen.

To view the linked documents:

  1. Click the drop down arrow next to any document with linked icon.

  2. This opens the document view, allowing you to see all associated files in one location.

Viewing Linked Documents in the 'Linked Docs' Tab

The Linked Docs tab within the single document drill-down view provides users with seamless access to related documents. Users can conveniently view the associated document here without navigating elsewhere.

Key highlights

  • Access linked documents directly from the Linked Docs tab in the drill-down view.

  • See document details such as the name and type of the linked file, enabling faster cross-references.

  • Maintain context by switching between the primary document and its linked counterparts in the same interface.
